Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will keep Twilight fans’ hearts pounding for two more movies. “Twilight” studio Summit Entertainment confirms that “Breaking Dawn” will be separate films.

Summit was reported to be considering doing to films about the final book in the Twilight series but had to sign up key stars for the movie, because two films weren’t part of the original negotiations for the series.

Rob and Kristen negotiated their deals without much fanfare, but Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen and Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett held out for more money.

It looked for a time like they might be replaced, but finally agreed to a compromise.

Now Breaking Dawn will be shot back-to-back.

Kristen was a big advocate of splitting the book because the story “absolutely warrants two films.”

Confirming the decision to make two films, Summit released the following statement:

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' casting and auditions underway in Los Angeles

The much anticipated casting and auditions process for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" is now getting underway in Los Angeles, on the heels of the world premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, which will take place in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 24th.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released as two separate movies, Breaking Dawn Part I has a release date of November 18, 2011, and a summer 2012 release for Breaking Dawn Part II is being targeted. Director Bill Condon will shoot the two films back to back.

Breaking Dawn II will be released in 3-D, however no decision has been announced about Part I. A 3-D film can be created in two ways. One is to process the film in post-production editing using CGI for 3-D effects. The other method is to shoot the film with special 3-D cameras, such as the film Avatar was done using Sony HDC-F950 3-D cameras. It is not known which method Condon will use, but it is highly likely he will shoot using the special 3-D cameras since the effects are far superior.

Filming begins November 2010, and it now appears likely that shooting will take place in the state of Louisiana. There is a very large amount of filming that takes place in Louisiana due to the large tax credits that the state offers the studios. Louisiana offers a 30% transferable incentive for total in-state expenditures related to the production of a motion picture. The budget on both parts of Breaking Dawn will be substantially greater than the previous installments in the series, therefore Summit Entertainment would benefit greatly by filming in Louisiana, and low key negotiations with the state film commission are taking place.

The film's extras will be hired near the shooting locations throughout filming.

Fans Can Expect Lots of Skin – and Sex! – in Breaking Dawn says Melissa Rosenberg

Twilight films have been fairly tame when it comes to sex. But it sounds like Breaking Dawn will stay true to Stephenie Meyer's book, with especially racy scenes between leading lovers Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

"You will see sex – Yes!" Breaking Dawn and Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told PEOPLE at the Eclipse premiere in L.A. Thursday night. "The relationship [between Pattinson's Edward and Stewart's Bella] does go all the way in the book, so in the movie, it will as well. You are going to see more skin in Breaking Dawn than you did in the other films."

But don't expect any XXX antics. "Will it be pornographic? – That, I do not know," Rosenberg said with a laugh. "I don't know if it has to be R-rated, but it has to be what the book is, which means more skin. ... I will definitely be writing more skin."

Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter for the upcoming “Breaking Dawn” films, has put Twi-hard worries at rest — all the appropriate scenes will be steamy.

“There will be sex scenes – multiple sex scenes,” Melissa told Access Hollywood of the upcoming romance between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and her love, vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), as she hit the red carpet on Thursday night for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” premiere.

“There will be feathers,” she added of Bella and Edward’s between-the-sheets moments, which involves the vamp biting a pillow.

“I am in the middle of ‘Breaking Dawn,’” she said. “I was doing ‘Breaking Dawn’ this morning and I will do ‘Breaking Dawn’ tomorrow morning. It’s right deep in the middle.”

Kristen Stewart nie będzie używać peruki w ekranizacji ostatniej książki z sagi "Zmierzch" - "Przed świtem".

Aktorka korzystała ze sztucznych włosów podczas kręcenia trzeciej części serii - "Zaćmienie" - ponieważ w międzyczasie musiała ściąć włosy na potrzeby filmu "The Runaways". Najwyraźniej jednak czas pozwolił jej włosom na powrót do stanu wyjściowego.

MTV: “Breaking Dawn” Part Two Release Date Not Set for Summer 2012

In June, Summit Entertainment announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films, with the first part arriving on November 18, 2011. Though no release date for the second part has been announced, the conventional wisdom has been that the second part would follow in the summer of 2012.

Not so fast. Summit distribution chief Richie Fay told MTV News that no such decision has been made and that the studio is still exploring multiple release dates, not just ones in the summer.

“We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.”

Of course, studios always explore various release dates for pictures, especially established blockbusters, and the fact that Summit hasn’t committed the second “Breaking Dawn” to the summer season shouldn’t be mistaken for confusion or indecision within studio headquarters.

But the 2012 summer movie calendar is rapidly filling up, not necessarily with films that widely share an audience with “Breaking Dawn,” but with established franchises or properties in their own right. That May will offer “The Avengers,” “Madagascar 3″ and “Men in Black 3,” while June delivers a “Star Trek” sequel. The rebooted “Spider-Man” has already nabbed the July 4th slot (occupied this year by “Eclipse”), followed closely by another “Ice Age” and a third “Batman.”

Surely there’s room here for “Breaking Dawn,” but Summit now has experience releasing “Twilight” movies both in the summer and the fall. And, as Fay says, the studio might not be ready to pick a season for “Breaking Dawn” until “Eclipse” finishes up its theatrical run.

“We might have a preference when we see where ‘Eclipse’ ends up,” he said of choosing one season over another. “It certainly might color our thinking, but we’re comfortable with either place. Right now, it’s a bit early in that stage of planning."

Mellissa: Dla mnie jest naturalny podział książki. Jeszcze nie wiem w jakim punkcie zakończymy pierwszy film, ale w pierwszej części książki Bella jest człowiekiem, bierze ślub, zachodzi w ciąże, a w następnej części jest wampirem. Według mnie to naturalny podział. Gdzieś w tym przejściu on będzie, ale niewiem jeszcze gdzie dokładnie.
Zachowasz książkę Jacoba?
Nie, nie zachowamy jej. Zaćmienie byłoby dobrym miejscem na wstawienie książki Jacoba, bo w tym filmie zaczynamy odchodzić od prostych perspektyw Belli. Widzimy nowonarodzonych, Volturii.... zaczynamy się sami oddalać od punktu widzenia. Więc punkt widzenia Jacoba będzie naturalny, Może udostępnimy inne punkty widzenia.
Ostatnia część jest mroczniejsza, brutalniejsza i bardziej dojrzała niż pozostałe części. Zachowasz te aspekty w adaptacji?
Tak, absolutnie! Myślę, że możemy zrobić film bardziej dojrzały, brutalniejszy i seksowniejszy jednoczeście dostępny dla najmłodszych. W rzeczywistości nie widzę nigdzie wiader krwi, nie sądzę, że jest to konieczne. Uważam, że trzeba to przestawic w napięciu, grozy... Wolałabym, aby wszystko to przekładało się przez Belle. Mimo wszystko, wszystko tam jest, niepowiniśmy tego opłakiwać. Na przykład widzimy scenę pomiędzy Edwardem i Bellom i pierze, które będzie miejscem spotkania. Summit Entertainment podała, że zdjęcia do ostatniej części "Sagi Zmierzch" pod tytułem "Przed Świtem" rozpoczną się jesienią w Luizjanie oraz w Vancouver.

Główne role ponownie zagrają Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson i Taylor Lautner. Reżyserią zajmie się Bill Condon.

“I don’t think we’ll be toning a whole lot [of the racy scenes] down,” Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told HollywoodLife.com exclusively during a one-on-one interview before her Writer’s Guild Foundation event in LA July 13. “We want the eroticism of the sex scenes.”

However, Melissa does say, “That doesn’t mean that one has to see it all, but you do want that [eroticism]. With the birth scene as well, I just don’t know that you have to tone it down. If you really look at the books, how much are you really seeing? I think [the movies] might wind up being saucier than the book because you’re actually seeing skin-on-skin and the horror of the birth scenes. We’re not shying away from it.”

As for how she plans on actually splitting up the epic last Twilight Saga novel into two films, Melissa has a good idea – but nothing is concrete QUITE yet. “We’re still debating the exact moment, but it’ll fall down to the first half of Bella as a human and being pregnant and a newlywed and the second half being Bella as a vampire and a parent. Somewhere in the middle of that, the break will come.”
